NBSC KICKS OFF JOURNAL PUBLICATION MENTORING SERIES VIA ZOOM
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) officially commenced its “Journal Publication Mentoring Program” last, November 19, 2025, gathering faculty and staff for an inaugural session held via Zoom. Spearheaded by the Research, Development, and Innovation Division (RDID) under the leadership of Director Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa, this initiative marks the beginning of a specialized training series designed to equip aspiring authors with the skills necessary to navigate the competitive landscape of academic publishing.
Leading the first day of the program was Dr. Mark Angelo P. Walag from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP). As the session’s resource speaker, Dr. Walag guided participants through the intricacies of scholarly writing, setting the tone for the intensive workshops to follow. The series will continue on November 26, 2025, with Dr. Primitivo C. Ragandang III of the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) slated to join the roster of experts providing hands-on mentorship.
The program offers a comprehensive platform for attendees to refine their manuscripts under the direct supervision of established regional researchers. By facilitating this direct engagement between seasoned experts and local faculty, the college ensures that its academic community receives up-to-date guidance on meeting international publication standards.
This strategic launch signifies a robust step forward in maturing the college’s culture of inquiry and discovery. By actively investing in the scholarly capabilities of its workforce, NBSC is building a strong foundation for sustained knowledge generation, ensuring that its future research outputs will have a meaningful and lasting impact on the broader scientific community.
